Summary
It was probably a bad idea to come here without Robin. The only time he’s ever stepped foot through those doors is with her by his side. Hellfire has become their local hangout, where they go after a long day at work, where they go to celebrate after they’ve accomplished something big, where they go to unwind when they need a break from reality. The music’s loud, the drinks are strong, and the crowd is uninhibited and unabashedly gay. Not many places like it in this corner of the world, but it’s a local haven.
On a typical night, Steve and Robin would wander over to the bar first and grab a drink before heading to the dance floor until they’re both sweaty and just tipsy enough to forget their problems. Tonight, Steve feels out of place for the first time. He wasn’t going to come, but Robin has started seeing someone, leaving him alone more nights than he’s used to, their house too quiet without her incessant rambling.
So here he is, alone, at their favorite bar, sipping a drink on a bar stool, hoping it’ll give him some liquid courage to go out on the dance floor by himself.

Summary
With a bit of a start, Steve woke up in the small hours of the morning. Sunlight was just barely beginning to leak in around the curtains over his window and there wasn’t a single sound outside except for the early chirping of birds.
Pressed flush against Steve’s front and wrapped up tight in his arms was Eddie, sound asleep still. Steve wasn’t even sure what woke him up, but he took advantage of the moment to watch the gorgeous man in his bed sleep.

Summary
“Sorry,” Steve says. “I’m sorry, I know this doesn’t make any sense to you, but can I just–”
Eddie lets him approach, this time. Lets him reach out to touch, to curl his fingers in the hem of Eddie’s shirt.
“Sorry, I know I probably sound crazy, I just––” he pulls it up, stares at Eddie’s side, and then lets out a hysterical little noise that sounds like a cross between a laugh and a sob.
“You’re ok,” Steve says.
His fingers are hot on Eddie’s skin, pressed light and shockingly reverent to the space between his hip and rib cage.
“You’re ok,” he repeats. It sounds like he’s trying to convince himself.
“Hey,” Eddie says. It comes out more breathless than he’d prefer but Steve fucking Harrington has him backed against a wall in a bathroom with his hands up Eddie’s shirt so he thinks a little lack of air is warranted. “Are you ok?”
The fingers on his abdomen flex. "No,” Steve says. His eyes are wide and fathomless and the look on his face is terrible. “No, I’m not even remotely ok.”
