Or: Xie Lian gets (literally) tied up paying someone else's debt. It brings back memories for him and the ghost who came to collect. Luckily, the ghost brought back up in the form of an assistant who really deserves a raise.

Determined to give Lan Zhan the shock of his life, he reached up first to coat his palm with a decent amount of spit and then back down to take himself in hand. The only issue is that Hua Cheng had caught an illness and was hit by said sword. That wouldn't have been an issue, but it turned out that the sword didn't necessarily kill the mortals.
Or Hua Cheng gets his memories wiped up to when he was Wu Ming, and now Xie Lian can show this side of his husband's love while looking for a way to fix this.
