Summary
Canon-era AU. With the threat from Morgana and her forces growing by the day, coupled with the legalisation of magic in Camelot still in its infancy, Arthur feels that his kingdom is floundering. He agrees to a political marriage with Merlin, the young leader of the Druids, in order to secure Camelot's future and to ally himself with the one person who might be able to defeat Morgana. A marriage of convenience soon starts to become something more, and Arthur finds himself learning things about himself and his kingdom he would never have imagined, while forging a genuine connection with someone who seems to truly understand him.

Summary
Now that he's been crowned King of Camelot, Arthur's advisers are pushing him to find a wife and secure the future of the kingdom by fathering an heir. But Arthur already has a consort in mind—namely, Merlin, who already does so much for him and Camelot that Arthur can imagine no one better suited to rule by his side. The only problem is convincing Merlin of this fact, since he remains stubbornly oblivious to all of Arthur's attempts to woo him...

Summary
“Merlin!” he calls out, and nearly falls over himself to take the three remaining steps to his manservant. He breathes hard, putting a hand on the raw, red material of Merlin’s tunic. There is something under there.
A head peeks out, and blue eyes stare at him.
“Who are you?” a child demands, with Merlin’s familiar eyes and a mop of dark hair falling over his forehead, and two ears sticking out from his face. “How d’you know my name? Are you a knight?”
“Oh, no,” Arthur says, in what he thinks is a very apt assessment of the situation.

Summary
“Are you sure you can’t do a bit of magic?” Arthur asks. “I promise I won’t behead you for it.”
“Very reassuring,” Merlin says. “Truly, that’s an extreme act of mercy on your part, my Lord. It’s almost enough to convince me you aren’t a dollophead.”
“What use are you,” Arthur mutters.
Or:
The druids call Merlin Emrys. Arthur isn't sure why they think his hapless manservant is some sort of powerful sorcerer, but it's certainly a good way to improve Camelot's relationship with the druids. It's only a little bit of a lie, surely.
Except it turns out that it's not a lie at all.
