Otherwise known as Dennis's religious trauma, leading to him living as a Beta. Jason was sick of people telling him how he felt. ‘You don’t need us anymore,’ Artemis had told him, as if saying it would make it true. As if Jason needed someone to justify keeping them around. But three weeks back in Gotham and all Jason felt was fucking bored and lonely.
It was a relief, then, when some random New Yorker was thrown into his living room through a portal straight out of some LSD daydream.

With shaking hands and bated breath, he reached out to undo the small zipper. Just a little. Retreating his hands enough for a small black nose to poke out of the neck hole. It sniffed curiously at the fresh air outside of the Kevlar. Soon it was followed by a little white snout, and finally big puppy dog eyes were staring back at him.
A dog? No... A puppy?!

The one where Superman gets turned into a literal puppy during a fight, and Bruce can't help but see the irony of it.

When a character doesn't fit in the story, the canon has to be updated. If Peter Parker never existed before, how could he exist now? And if there was never a peter parker- how could there be a little symbiote stranded in another universe?
