    Stephanie Brown disappears for three months. No warning. No note. Just gone—the kind of gone that makes Bruce start running facial recognition algorithms across four continents and Cass stop speaking entirely.

    When she finally comes back, she doesn't walk through the door. She falls through it, flatlines into Cassandra's arms, and raises a shaking thumbs up.

    "Yes, I'm alive. Yes, I'm 𝘯𝘰𝘵 okay. And yes—" she coughs, pink light flickering around her fingers, "—it's a 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 long story."

    The Batfamily learns three things very quickly:

    1. Stephanie is now a Star Sapphire.
    2. She did not choose this.
    3. She spent three months terrorising the Lantern Corps out of 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 because the ring wouldn't come off.

    Cassandra has opinions about the outfit. 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 opinions. Stephanie is not emotionally prepared for any of this.

    Steph was cut off by Cassandra, who placed her hands on her cheeks and planted a kiss on her lips. Steph froze, paralyzed by the sudden action, before closing her eyes and melting into the kiss. Then, just as suddenly as it had come, the kiss was gone. Stephanie blinked at Cass, her pouty face reemerging as their lips separated.

    Cass stepped back, licked her lips thoughtfully, and shrugged. “Kissable.”
