Set a few weeks before episode 1.
A rogue person has been wrecking havoc recently around Night City. Scenes of carnage and gore littered many abandoned bases of gangs, with only the short XBDs scavenged through the bodies being the clue to whoever did it. Despite Maine's immediate call out to lay low, many of the significant crew members will inevitably meet the overnight-infamous cyberpsycho─ one who, for some reason, knows them by name.
An antithesis to the usual 'fix-it' trope of a time travel fic; what if David RUINS the events even more? That's right, more suffering─ but at least he's on the giving side this time. Cyberpsycho!David.
Important notice: the author is a poor schmuck and cannot play the game, thus, they do not know anything beyond the anime.
