Or: Remy and Madelyne find comfort for their respective heartbreaks in each other at the gala. They’re in Genosha and the gala happens but not the attack.

For a man as prone to bluffs as Remy, it was hard to keep a straight face when Rogue brought up their touch problem. Of course he wanted to touch her, more than anything in the world, but he couldn't say that without Rogue thinking it was her fault. It was never her fault; if anything, it was Gambit's fault, for not being strong enough to touch her. But Remy LeBeau was a creative man.
He just needed to find a workaround.
