The woman gave him a patronizing look. “Roger, come up here. I found him,” she called over her shoulder into the belly of the hallway.
“Who are you? Answer me, by Christ!” He reached for his dirk out of reflex and realized he had been disarmed for many years.
“I’m Brianna,” she said.
“Brianna,” Jamie snorted. It was a ridiculous name for a girl.
