Aventurine was an incredibly dynamic individual. If he wasn’t so preoccupied with both his responsibilities with the IPC, his research, and teaching, Veritas might have been content to spend the rest of his days studying every little one of Aventurine’s tactics, mannerisms, and mechanisms that helped him function in a world that is so against him. Even with the little bit of attention he could afford to Aventurine, he noticed how even in relatively “friendly” conversations, the gambler was always calculated, always searching the other person for any hints about their motivations while keeping his own cards close to his chest. Behind that guarded smile was an intelligent man stripping his conversation partner’s character bare right before his eyes.
He wondered if it was exhausting always being on the offensive.

Summary
Pomni had a hatred for jumpscares; not only are they cheap scares, but they're also impossible not to get scared of. So when Caine's new adventure involved placing the circus inside a horror cabin in the woods excursion, she finds herself in a nightmare position. Worst of all, it was Jax's suggestion in the first place. Pomni dreaded whatever messed-up plan the bunny had come up with to land her in this situation.

Summary
With the ability to conjure comes something new to Pomni and Jax's unsteady relationship: bravery, strengthened by a descent into intimacy together. Without the restrictions of the circus, heat unfolds faster than they can keep up with it.

Summary
tl;dr: funnybunny escape the Circus, find each other in the real world, and finally give in to the desire they’ve been pretending isn't there.
Separated from the others during one of Caine’s adventures, Pomni and Jax stumble through a door that should not exist and accidentally escape the Circus.
When Jax finds Pomni again, they build a new normal together out of shared rooms, easy arguments, and the comfort of being the only two people who understand what happened. Somewhere between recovery and routine, they become the closest thing either of them has to home, even if neither of them is ready to call it anything yet.

“That’s all, sir.”
You barely take a step towards the door before a hand closes unexpectedly around your wrist, the cool touch familiar but not quite the same as that night in its intention.
Zayne is leaning over his desk when you turn to face him. A look flashes in his eyes, something between dark and conflicted but there and gone like moonlight on choppy water.
“There’s no need to call me that,” he said, a muscle in his jaw ticking. “And you, especially, are not allowed to call me that.”
You can feel your pulse quickening wildly beneath his grip, and from the way his fingers tighten ever so slightly around your wrist, you are almost certain he can feel it too.
The adrenaline that rushes through your blood makes you bold, as is the way you can see his careful composure begin to crack around the edges.
You tilt your head, decide to be infuriating.
“What are you gonna do about it—sir?”
