    For a moment he thought he was facing a ghost. Those eyes, that hair and that posture ... belonged to a person Obito had known very well. But that person had died because of him.
    It couldn't be.
    "Who are you?" he then asked, a menacing growl.
    The ghost took another step forward, the fire drawing shadows on his serious face and lighting blue eyes bright with determination.
    "I'm Uzumaki Naruto," he said, "and I'm from the future."

    The man in front of him seemed to have been devoured by the world and spat out of hell, only to have been hastily and inaccurately put back together.
    "How ... why did you decide to trust Naruto?" Jiraiya asked him.
    Obito barely looked at him, grabbing a heavy black cloak instead. "Madara's plan is doomed to failure, I don't have much choice." He froze, as if he had been struck by a thought and frowned. "There is something about Naruto that makes me want to help him."

    By killing Itachi, Sasuke is made aware of the terrible truth his brother was hiding. Despite the pain and the desire for revenge, he decides to return to Konoha to fulfill Itachi's wish: to protect the Village. Pain has been defeated, but Madara presses on his hunt for the Biju.
    For the ninja of Konoha, all that remains is to reach Kiri to form an alliance and prevent the world from being destroyed.
    But it is during the journey that Naruto makes, at the wrong time, the most wrong encounter of all.

    "Let's get it straight," he began, his voice heavy, almost fatigued. “This is just a truce. The kami must have found it funny ... associating the two of us," the word said with obvious disgust, "I don't think I share their sense of humor. But I'm an opportunist and if you're stupid enough to come to me of your own free will, I won't spit on it. I will use you as long as necessary, but in the end I will tear the Kyūbi from you, do you understand?"
