The skin on his face burned, no, everything was burning. Air didn’t get past his nose, and Dick… he didn’t understand what was happening. His surroundings were… hot. The taste of smoke filtered through his teeth, drying out his tongue with every breath.
Hell. That was the only thing his consciousness could manage to think. But then… he remembered the snow, freezing against his fingertips when he took off his glove. A different kind of burning in that moment and, and, and… a flash. Blue, red, purple, and finally, before his consciousness faded: black.
