Blitz doesn't know why he does it. If someone were to ask him, he'd say it's to prove to Stolas that he's fine, fuck you very much. He sways, leaning against a bright yellow wall. It's so fucking bright and loud in here, and the beelzejuice is making his head swim and his skin tingle in a pleasant way, and right now all he wants is for Stolas to know he's fine. He's not affected by that shit that happened earlier. So he taps on Stolas's picture, hits call, and holds the phone up to his ear.
"Blitz?" Stolas's voice is quiet, a little shaky.
"Heyyyyy, Stolas!" Blitz says, sagging against the wall. "How's your night goin'? Mine's goin' fuckin' great."
"... Are you drunk?"
Blitz grins, eyes shutting. He is sort of distantly aware of the fact that he's slid down the wall and is now sitting on the floor. "Fuck yeah, I am."

Instead of sticking his tongue in anything with a pulse after beating Bee at a drinking contest, Blitz has the amazing idea to call Stolas while so drunk that he can't stand on his own. What could go wrong?

Summary
Blitz spills over the sides of his cup when he pours the coffee pot. A little puddle forms on the counter but Blitz can't find the energy to clean it up, instead scooping ice out of the office's freezer and letting the cold bite his fingers. Cold is good. It shocks some of the numbness out of him, lets him tune into what the others are talking about. They have a hit on a more important target than usual, one with a security detail. Blitz curses himself for not checking the schedule for today himself. He's known today was coming. He always knows.
Blitz walks into the conference room, sipping his coffee, and stares dully at the whiteboard. He's supposed to come up with a plan, a strategy. Moxxie and Loona are arguing about whether it's better to be sneaky or to be fast, and then he hears his name, and the conversation tapers out. He blinks the room back into focus. Everyone is looking at him.
He clears his throat. "What?"

Teaching Stolas how to adjust is…interesting to say the least. Last week, Stolas was absolutely enamored with the idea of going grocery shopping for some reason that is unknown to Blitz; going grocery shopping isn’t actually fun, people can be total fucking animals in that place for some reason. They ended up being in that store for five fucking hours. Stolas was in complete awe of everything that was in there, constantly stopping to admire different items in different aisle. Blitz ended up having to hold onto his hand to keep him moving around the store after he caught Stolas admiring a can of soup. Who the hell admires soup?
or Stolas has his entire life upended and the only person he can turn to is Blitz. They're just friends. They both want more.

Stolas chokes on his spit.
He shoots up straight like a pillar and turns around, wide-eyed.
Months into living with Blitzø, Stolas still learns new things every day. Like how communication is key and if it isn't done verbally, he'll take Blitzø's horny thoughts- wait.
Since when can he hear Blitzø's horny thoughts?
Does that mean they can finally fuck again? He's been starving.Nevermind, he's just going crazy. Haha.

There's one picture in particular in that album where Blitzø - Blitzo at the time, and maybe around fifteen years old? - is in the process of changing his clothes for an act. It's not indecent or anything, but it's taken from the back and, since Blitzo's skin wasn't half burned off at the time, shows his full soulmate mark while he's shirtless.
The photo is blurry and old and worn, but Stolas has twice the eyesight to easily decipher every little familiar line in that mark on Blitzø's back, where it used to be, once upon a fire.
It's a lazy afternoon.
Dinner, his favourite bird, and the terrifying ordeal of having to tell him that they're soulmates - without actually telling him, that is.
C'mon, Blitzø is brave but not that brave.
