“Wait,” Buck says again, and Eddie hears the smile in it this time, low and a little worried. “So you were listening the whole time?”
And there it is. The trap.
He tries for cool detachment. “Didn’t exactly have a choice. Your phone decided I needed to be a part of your… whatever that was.”
Buck laughs –soft, delighted, like Eddie’s just said something better than a joke. It’s unfair, the way it works on him, the way it makes his chest feel too tight.
“Diaz,” Tommy cuts in, sharp and irritated, “maybe you can explain to him why calling out another man’s name during sex is a problem.”
And maybe Eddie should. Maybe he should play along, take Tommy’s side for once, because it would be easy and safe and noncommittal. But instead, what comes out is, “I’m still stuck on the bed thing.”or: Buck moans Eddie's name during sex enough times for his phone to call the man.
