Summary
Leonie Pinelli is a commoner, poor, practical, and completely lacking in romance. If her feet were any more firmly on the ground, she’d be in it. Like a potato.
Lorenz Hellman Gloucester is noble, rich, morally upright, and overly uptight. If he gets any more tightly wound, he’s going to pull something.
An unexpected friendship becomes rather something more through bad haircuts, shared food, and a continent-spanning war.
OR: Leonie/Lorenz slowburn friends-to-lovers paired fics, one written from Leonie POV and the other from Lorenz POV as the two dunderheads grow up, experience Emotions, and eventually get a clue.

Those clouds seem to be shifting now. Dorothea hums in thought, trying her best to observe Edelgard’s expression and movements in the dark.

Ingrid grips her reins, though her horse is in no danger of wandering off. Her fingers flex in the thick hide of her gloves. She does not allow her mind to linger on doomed solutions for his absence. Jobs run long. Promises get broken. It is a bitter world she survives within, but it is one consistent in its cruelty.
He has three days before she leaves. He has three days before she will be forced to move along. It is their promise to one another. When the sun rises, time will begin ticking. For now she simply waits.
