It was still dark, the sun was not supposed to rise until he, Slider and Iceman were back on the carrier. There they flew, through the dark night, about to destroy another suspected enemy headquarters. It was supposed to be an easy mission, fly there, destroy the site, fly back. No high g-force climb outs, no SAM’s, no intercepting jets. It was supposed to be easy, be a very basic mission. One could question, why one of the best teams, arguably the best team of the Navy was send out for a routine mission.
