"Shut. the Goddamn. Door." Vash's voice was a broken rasp, like the chamber of a revolver in need of grease. He was half-concealed in the shadowy corner between the dresser and the window, and his eyes were unusually bright, feral, flashing like an animal's in headlights.
Wolfwood was taken a bit aback by the snarl on Vash's face, but he was taken several yards further by the realization that Vash had torn off most of his clothes the minute he got in his room. And then Wolfwood was yanked so far aback that he went clear though the door, out of the building, and around the planet to come right back to where he started: with a half-naked Vash the Stampede leaning against the dresser, breathing hard, with an egg in his hand. It took Wolfwood a very understandable second to find words.
"Did. Did you just--"
"Either stay and help," Vash gasped, "or leave, and lemme get on with it."

“Whatever you want,” Vash admits. “I figured we could just make out a while and pass out, or…”
His gaze flits, involuntarily, to his nightstand. This is his room, after all, as close as he gets to a proper home in this place. It’s been a very long time since Vash has felt comfortable enough with somebody to bring them here—much less show himself to them—but Wolfwood is, he’s just different in a way that Vash isn’t sober enough to articulate. He protected Vash’s home, he stuck around to help with the cleanup. It’s possible he’s here under false pretenses, possible that he was sent to find Vash in the first place by Vash’s brother; he’d have to be an idiot not to consider that.
But like the knowledge that he probably shouldn’t do this, all rational thought around Wolfwood and his origins have flown out the window right now. All Vash can think about is how much he wants this, and wants Wolfwood, and if the way Wolfwood’s looking at him, eyes hazy and warm, lower lip drawn between his teeth, is any indication—he wants it too.

Summary
The sink turns on, muffled through the bathroom door. Wolfwood is running out of time and he can’t stop his breath from hitching. A cigarette would help, so with effort, he pries himself out from under the sheets and stumbles to the balcony door, grabbing his blazer off the headboard as he makes his way out. He’s just managed to get his lighter from his pocket when he hears the sink shut off, followed by Vash’s soft footsteps; he’s likely making noise on purpose to broadcast his movements and avoid startling Wolfwood.
Conscientious. He always is, though. Wolfwood burns his thumb on his lighter and watches through blurred vision as the burn heals in real time, going from vibrant red to pale, puffy dead skin that immediately starts to peel off. Wolfwood rubs it with his index finger after a second, more successful attempt at lighting his cigarette, sticking it into his mouth with the shaking fingers of his other hand.
Vash’s footsteps pause.
“Did I wake you?”

From the day he was born to the day he was taken in by Chapel, he’s only had a few respites and none of them lasted. So sure, why not add on an actual honest-to-gods curse by some confused, maniacal loser with brother issues.
His life might as well have been over after that since he had no home, no future, and no hope—if not for a friendly tall girl of a spirit and her red-cloaked friend. Though said friend does look suspiciously like the guy who cursed him…

Deep Cuts is notorious for its brawls.Or: Kniveswood owns a bar and is in love as they struggle to keep their criminal life under control. However, that control seems to slip once Vash goes missing.
