    He knocked twice, the sharp sound filling his ears. Shadow adjusted the cuffs of his jacket as the door opened, revealing Sonic's bright grin. He smiled back, and opened his mouth to greet him, when loud footsteps that shook the ground made him pause.

    A large, brown owl stepped behind Sonic, absolutely towering over them. Her beak pressed downwards into a frown as her teal eyes sliced through his soul.

    Shadow gulped.

    Holy shit, that woman has definitely killed someone before.

     

    Or: Shadow meets Longclaw and gets a shovel talk.
