Summary
“But he’s Buck,” Theo explains, pushing a small finger into Buck’s chest, as if to show Tommy exactly who Buck was. “Everyone calls him Buck.”
Tommy’s face relaxes slightly as he answers, “yes, that’s true, but—”
“Everyone!” Theo cuts Tommy off, holding up his hand as he begins to count on his fingers. “Me, Chris, Auntie Hen and Karen, Uncle Chimney, Ravi—”
Once he runs out of fingers on his one hand, he looks up at Buck, realization dawning on his face. “Aunt Maddie calls you Evan!” He exclaims, almost shouts in Buck’s face, eyes comically wide at this, apparently very important, piece of information.
Buck nods. “Yes, she does. Sometimes.”
“Aunt Maddie does, sometimes.” Theo reiterates to Tommy, his eyes narrowing as he cocks his head to the side, thinking. “Wait— Eddie does too! But only sometimes. Like less sometimes than Aunt Maddie. I think? But Eddie is Eddie, so it’s different.”
Tommy can’t help the snort he lets out, “you’re right about that, kid.”
Or, Buck runs into his ex at the grocery store, which forces Buck to confront feelings he's been ignoring for far too long.

Summary
"Are you okay?" Eddie asks, sounding more awake now. Awake and concerned.
Reluctantly, Buck forces his eyes open. "Yup," he answers as casually as possible. "I'm all good. Just, uh, showering."
Eddie frowns. "Water's not on."
"Yeah, I was just..." Buck trails off and rubs at the back of his neck. He has absolutely no idea how to finish that sentence.
Or, Buck gets off in a slightly unconventional way. Eddie finds out about it.

Summary
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to compare what you both went through, but I don't know what to do here. We haven't even talked about it yet, and he seemed fine on the drive back, but I know he's not, and I just...please. What helped you after...you know..."
"After I was kidnapped and tortured?"
Eddie abruptly stops walking and turns. "Shit. Maddie. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be asking you this. Forget I ever..."
Maddie interrupts him. "Don't. Don't ever apologize for caring for him. I don't mind talking about it if you think it can help. What do you need?"
He takes a deep breath and looks up towards the night sky. It's cloudy, and he can only make out a few stars, but he lets his eyes bounce between them a few times before they settle on the moon. The sight brings him back down to earth.
"How do I help him through this?"
Or, Eddie calls Maddie for advice in the middle of the night after he and Buck get back from New Mexico.

Summary
Eddie's head snapped up. One of the SWAT officers was pointing at a portable monitor set up near the command vehicle—a live feed from the news broadcast still streaming from inside the school. The camera was shaky, the angle awkward, but it showed a hallway.
And there—*there*—was Buck.
Eddie's breath caught in his throat. Buck was in the middle of the corridor, and he was fighting. Not running, not hiding—*fighting*. Hand-to-hand combat with one of the shooters, brutal and desperate. Buck's face was streaked with blood, his shirt torn, but he was moving with the fierce determination of someone protecting something precious.
The camera zoomed in slightly, and Eddie could see it now—the way Buck had positioned himself. The storage closet door visible behind him. The way every move Buck made was calculated to keep the shooter away from that door, to use his body as a barrier.
"The boys," Eddie said, his voice hollow with realisation. "They're in that closet. That's where he hid them. He's—" Eddie's voice broke. "He's protecting them."
Or Buck is taking the boys to Christopher’s science Fayre when a school shooting starts. We see how Buck fights to keep his boys safe and how Eddie rushes to save themBookmarked by Faultededge

Summary
Eddie's mouth found that spot just below Buck's ear, the one that made him melt every single time. "Don't care about the movie," Eddie murmured against Buck's skin, his hands mapping the planes of Buck's stomach, his chest, everywhere he could reach. "Just want you."
"You had me this morning," Buck breathed, but he was already tilting his head back, giving Eddie better access, his body pliant and eager under Eddie's touch.
"Not enough." Eddie's voice came out rough, almost desperate. "It's never enough, Buck. I can't—I need you all the time. Can't stop thinking about you, touching you, being inside you."
Buck turned in his arms, those blue eyes dark with desire. "Then don't stop," he said, and kissed Eddie with the same intensity Eddie felt burning through his veins.
or Eddie has an obsession with Buck, there is only one thing to do about it, lots of Eddie taking Buck in various ways and locations.
