Summary
It didn’t take Sam long to realize why he did it in such a visible place: with a childhood on the road, he never had the chance to be known, to be seen. He knew most people didn’t hurt themselves for attention, but after years of going unnoticed, what was the big deal if he wanted a little attention?
He didn’t mind the stares and whispers, because for the first time in his life people were seeing him. And God, it felt good. People were seeing him, saying his name, and it wasn’t because of sexual appeal. People were saying his name and it wasn’t just because “That boy does anything you ask him to in bed.”
