Summary
Agott doesn’t hate Coco. She doesn’t think she ever did. Whatever she felt back then wasn’t hate– it was bright and strong, sure, but not hate. So now, as Coco’s problem makes itself ever more serious– waiting for her, patient and terrible, set silently at the foot of her childhood home– Agott realizes something unfortunate. She seems to refuse to simply leave Coco to bear her problems alone.
Agott knows magic like the back of her hand, after all. She knows magic, and she knows it well— and if she’s learned anything from the past year, it’s that two pens are always better than one.
(And all the while this feeling, this not-dislike, coils through Agott’s heart like spring flowers, petals unfurling gently within her soul. Perhaps… there is still a bit more she has to realize.)

You couldn’t just tell your best friend you liked them. Everyone knew that.
Sixteen-year-old Agott devises a system for dealing with a crush. It goes about as well as one might expect.

Coco doesn't continue her spell practice that first night she discovers the secret of magic—she hides the evidence away to continue later. And so she does not meet Qifrey a second time, and so many things happen differently.
Months later, Agott is dragged along to a trip to an outsider village, because visiting the tailor is apparently a group activity. She meets a curious girl there.

Despite Agott’s words, her expression betrayed her. Her gaze had found its way back to the fake brushbuddy and lingered there. Coco suppressed a smile.
She could read Agott well enough by now to know that, despite the suggestion to the contrary, she really really wanted that plushie.
Or: Coco wins herself a giant brushbuddy plushie and gives it to Agott instead.

The Jedi were never meant to fight in war. They still aren’t meant to. But that’s what they’re doing, and that results in almost every single Jedi reaching for the Dark Side unintentionally at one point or another, results in every Jedi Falling, losing the parts of themselves that are kind and good.
Except for the vod’e noticed when they started to Fall, and decided that they weren’t going to let it happen—and it turns out, you can’t really Fall if you have people to Catch you. Force-null or not, the vod’e figure out how to pull their Jetiise back into the Light, and do so as many times as is needed.
General Kenobi is one of the last to start Falling for their first time.
