It’s… not like he wasn’t used to Alastor by now, in general. They had been around each other constantly since Mimzy’s club, dodging reporters from those Vees together, stamping out some reactionaries that came to attack after word got out and Alastor’s interview of him was broadcasted, fielding questions and concerns from Charlie… The shared spaces of the hotel were their shared spaces, and where they used to prod each other or avoid each other like the plague, they now hovered. Lingered a little longer before the inevitable bickering set back in. Righted the world into what it should be.
But it was never this.

“Different how?” Blonde Blazer asked.
“I don’t know, just different.” Colm’s frown deepened. “Me and Waterboy finally got a groove going, I’ve been showing the lad the ropes a lot. I thought that, I don’t know, I had a good thing going.”
“And Coop throws a wrench into that?”

After the battle against the Red Ring, Punch Up is second guessing his choice to advocate for Coupé be released. Thinking about her makes him nauseous, talking about her makes his tongue heavy, and for the first time since Robert cut her, Punch Up thinks the rose tinted glasses are slipping.

It was supposed to be a well-deserved vacation. A chance to get away from his duties as Champion and to get out from under Rose’s watchful eye. A chance for Leon to sort out long-repressed thoughts and feelings towards Raihan before Galar’s next gym challenge started. Unfortunately, a freak storm on their pleasure cruise to Sinnoh completely destroys Leon’s carefully laid plans.
Sometimes, it takes screaming from hilltops and running halfway across a region to realize how much you love someone.
AKA Raihan falls overboard and forgets who he is before being found by Ash and company. Leon fears the worst has happened and does questionable things as he searches for his missing rival. Charizard and Flygon are so done with both of their idiot trainers. Piers is ready to tear his hair out because his best friends are obviously in love with each other, but they’re both too stupid to admit it. Author also doesn’t know what British speak means. Inspired by the movie "Overboard".

Videl sat up, meeting his gaze with a worried expression. "What's wrong?" The question hung in the air for a moment, heavier than it should have been, before he let out a slow exhale.
"I'm going out for a bit." Was the reply. Simple, yes, but it didn't carry force behind it. Despite the fact it seemed like she woke up in the middle of someone's funeral, he was talking like he was about to go out and get some groceries. "If I'm wrong, I'll be back soon." He added, giving her a soft smile, and before she could even blink, he was changing out of night clothes and into the familiar orange gi.
"Does that mean there's a fight? I don't feel a thing, Gohan." She yawned, as he struggled to pull the top on, awkwardly leaning against the closet. She literally had a man made of pure muscle, smarts, and compassion, and he was still an absolute wreck in the mornings. The only thing that seemed constant about him was his hair, that stayed up in the same spikes no matter if it was noon or midnight.
"That's the problem, Videl." Came the muffled, still calm reply.

He was stranded on a quiet isle, amidst the sea of predatory tongues baiting him into blab and babble, listening to blustering winds about whose child was the brightest bulb. These obnoxious braggarts were blind to the obvious: his son was literally and figuratively the brightest student here!
