Summary
"Whoaaaa" Grace couldn't help but rush out, like a little kid seeing the museum for the first time. Endless fascination for everything he didn't understand as it was demonstrated right before his eyes.
Also like a little kid, Grace got antsy after the first few seconds.
"How long is this supposed to take?" Grace ignored how whiney he sounded as he asked. It didn't stop him from tacking on a childish; "Ugh!"
"Collector should be here soon," Rocky responded at the same time the impact of the collector's collision with the winch forced another sound out of Grace.
"Got it, its here!" Grace cheered, and he moved towards the winch now that the xenonite chain was no longer moving at approximately three times the speed of sound.
"Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!"
Something else hit the ship.

Summary
After years of believing he was going to be alone forever, Ryland Grace is informed of a spacecraft drifting near Erid. The survivor he pulls aboard is Simon: younger, scarred, broad-shouldered, and carrying enough religious trauma to fill a spaceship. As recovery turns into late-night conversations, shared nightmares, and one very crowded bed, two men who have both been starved of human touch begin to realize that survival is easier when someone is there to reach back.

When a submarine carrying another human is found floating in space near Erid, Ryland Grace has to not only help him adjust to life on an alien planet, but also help him figure out why he's half fish monster now and has no memories past being in a blood ocean on a submarine. He does all this while battling the giant crush he's developing on his new fishy friend.
Or
Simon is deeply insecure about the changes that happened to his body and Ryland helps him feel comfortable with himself again. Also, whenever Ryland does "experiments" (mostly just poking at his fish parts and being as confused as simon is) it sorta turns him on really bad.

"Don't- don't-" Simon whimpers, voice a terrified croak
"No, no," *Rocky huffs, trilling as he stops a few feet away*
"Grace say Grace like this when scared, Rocky help convict now." *the Eridian straightens up and juts out the front of his carapace, imitating when Grace puffs out his chest proudly after accomplishing something he deems worth praising.
Simon has never like Rocky. Not when the Eridian body-slammed him off of Grace when they first met and he was delirious and soaked in blood, not when the smaller being tried to offer him advice on "how to not leak so much." And certainly not the artificial, droning voice of the translator Grace gave him.
Then he has a nightmare, and Rocky is woken up by the sound of the convict screaming in his sleep.Based off of a comment I made on TikTok- hopefully it's up to standard!

Summary
Rocky and Grace are back aboard the Hail Mary for the first-ever mission in the Star Angel Program launched by the Eridians to help save nearby star systems that are likley to support other intelligent life.
All is going well until their new-and-improved astral sensing technology picks up a strange radio signal from a nearby moon.
OR
The moon itself was fairly large, clearly the largest in Epsilon Eridani b’s orbit, and the magnetosphere of the gas giant could potentially stabilize a body of water like that to some extent, but there would have to be an immense atmospheric pressure on the moon for an ocean, because that’s what it was, to exist.
Once in stable orbit, Grace was able to see the ocean itself through the hull cameras of the Hail Mary.
“That’s very strange," He remarked.
“Not very. Look at mountain ridges. Moon mountains release gas. Enough atmospheric pressure for ocean,” countered Rocky.
“It’s not that,” began Grace, “It’s red.”
