    Summary

When Sherlock Holmes dies, Mycroft Holmes goes back to being a pillar of the British government. Anderson loses his mind. John Watson shuts down harder than a crashed computer.

    But Sally Donovan?

The doorbell of her flat rings in the middle of the night.

Sally is about ready to ream out whatever fool showed up at her doorstep, ringing her doorbell, at fucking midnight, but then she stops when she sees who the lanky shadow lingering on her stoop is.

Sherlock Holmes, curls a sodden mess, the moonlight glimmering against his dark hair, against his eyelashes, against his moon-pale skin.

A ghost, she thinks at first, and yet—

She reaches out and pokes him, and he flinches, because he’s alive.

    He’s alive.

“I have half a mind to fucking slap you,” Sally says, and she means it, the way that the words hiss from between her lips, and Sherlock doesn’t even have the decency to flinch.

(Sherlock calls Sally an old friend of his. Things go back far further than most people would expect, especially considering their reputation for hating each other—and when he has to fake his own death, there is one person not on Moriarty's list that he can turn to.)

    Summary

Geralt's muscles heave backwards, flinging him down against the bed. He tries to struggle upwards but it feels like he’s been buried beneath a mountain. Every inch of him is pressed completely still. His eyes close, and he’s left in the dark with nothing but his racing heart for company. He’s not tired, he’s never been less tired. But the curse wants him to sleep, it seems. It’ll force him to lie here until he does. How much of his life will it start to control, now that he’s declared war against it? Now that he knows it’s lurking in his bones, now that it doesn’t have to be subtle?

He swallows. Takes a long, deep breath, gathering every bit of courage he has to stop himself from slipping back into panic. He still has control over his lungs. He still has that.

    For now.

(Or: Witchers don't retire. They stay on the Path until it kills them. They hunt monsters and they want nothing from life. This isn't exactly by choice.)

    Summary

"Indris had become increasingly and alarmingly distant, and though he couldn’t quite place the blame on any specific person, he could certainly pinpoint when the distance first took root.
The trouble began with the arrival of Misarte’s Scion."

Indris has been spending an awful amount of time with Eironn since the lifting of Misarte's curse. Ravion is not happy about it.
