“You okay?” Andy whispers while pulling carefully, opening up Emily’s chest and directing her arm straighter.
“No,” Emily whispers back through a straining jaw, “this is terrible and I hate it and you.”
“But we’ve only just met,” Andy murmurs with a wide smile. Emily sees it sideways.
“And this is a horrible first impression,” she whispers, broken at the end by a pained groan she attempts to muffle into her shoulder.

“Yes, I have”, Emily confessed.
Andrea sighed. A small, brief sigh. Emily heard it, still.
“How many times?”
Emily bit the inside of her cheek. She brought the glass to her lips and took a single sip of the wine inside of it. “Only once.”
(Emily Charlton spends twenty years in love with Andrea Sachs. And has never once thought Andrea might’ve ever loved her back. Until that moment comes, and Emily has no idea what do to with it.)

Summary
Here she is again, grand realisation of some feeling or another presumably a few weeks old and she's just… ready to say it. Ready to try and make it happen. Just like that. She's always there, ready to offer a hand or a hug or a kind word or a fucking monumental declaration, all the things that Emily's afraid of.
So maybe it's a little bit of a thrill, when Andy is flustered and panicked and putting every ounce of power back into Emily's hands.

Lena’s own apprehension is so high that she’s fairly sure she’s seconds away from hyperventilation, but she’s surprising even herself with how well she’s hiding it.
“Astute observation, Miss Danvers. It’s clear to anyone in the room that you two have…magnetism.” Cat sounds matter-of-fact, but the casual way she states that other people - both students and coworkers - have noticed how she and Kara interact makes Lena want to sink into the floor and disappear.

Kara and Lena are teachers, thirst is abundant, and communication is hard.
