Summary
Ellwood wants to please Gaunt in bed, and Gaunt doesn’t really know what he wants because he’s never had a partner who cared 😢 Ellwood decides to try something different.
“Touch me, Henry,” Ellwood says coyly, “I know you want to. And I’m right here, wanting it just as badly…maybe more.”
And that’s what breaks the dam. Gaunt launches himself at a smirking Ellwood, capturing his lips in a bruising kiss so passionate he can scarcely contain himself. He wants like he’s never felt before.
Instinctively, he finds himself on top of Ellwood, pinning Ellwood beneath him. Their erections brush against each other and he stops, panting like he’s run a race. He pulls back, eyes searching Ellwood’s for his reaction. All he sees is a slow, wicked grin. “Or maybe you do want this as much as I do,” Ellwood muses, running a hand up the arm Gaunt is holding him down with. “You know what I think, Henry?” he whispers seductively. “I think you know exactly what you want. You’re just too self-restrained to say it out loud. So I’m going to do us both a favor. Take it, Henry. Whatever it is that you want, just take it.”

Summary
While on the train to the Loeb family’s estate in Charlevoix, Michigan, Nathan and Dick make vital discoveries about each other that lead to a pact.
Told in third person, but from Loeb’s POV.
“I want you to be the source of my pleasure,” Nathan said. “You’re handsome and intelligent and so far above everyone else.”
“You flatter me,” Dick said, his smile growing, because yes, this was exactly what he wanted. He could see the hunger, the barely contained lust in Nathan’s eyes as his gaze ran over Dick’s body.
“I simply see you,” Nathan countered. “Your attributes are plain enough for any imbecile to see, but I don’t want them to have you. I want you to be mine.”
“What do you propose, then? You want to kiss me? You want to have sex with me? What is it that you’d like?”
“Anything I can get,” Nathan said, a smug grin on his face.
Dick’s grin was predatory. He had Nathan right where he wanted him. A quid pro quo deal. An action for an action. A crime for a roll in the hay.

Summary
Anyone ever wonder why Maitland went looking for Gaunt's letter from Ellwood?
When Gaunt reads Ellwood's letters to the officers, sometimes Maitland gets a little jealous...but he tells himself that's not the only reason he breaks Gaunt's trust by snooping.
AKA Maitland is really struggling to maintain his reputation as a gallant gentleman. Told from Maitland's POV.
“Burgoyne,” Maitland repeats, trying to remember. “He’s the one who was always on Ellwood’s case, wasn’t he?”
“Yes,” Gaunt says, wrinkling his nose. “Mine as well.”
“Sidney said you broke the poor sod’s nose once.”
Hayes raises an eyebrow in Gaunt’s direction. “It must take a great deal of anger to drive a man of so little emotion to break another man’s nose.”
Gaunt laughs a bit uncomfortably. “Ellwood has been my best friend for a long time. Burgoyne is a pest and nobody else was doing anything to stop him.” Gaunt avoids Maitland’s eye.

Summary
After he and Maitland have sex, all Ellwood wants to do is tell Gaunt. Maitland explains some heartbreaking reasons why their trysts should be kept secret.
Now that he knew, the first thing he wanted to do was tell Gaunt. But actually, what he wanted was to do this with Gaunt, to Gaunt. He felt a longing to bury himself in Gaunt like Maitland had shown him. To make Gaunt his. To make Gaunt tremble and—
“You’re going to tell him, aren’t you?” Maitland sighed.

Summary
After Loos, the Royal Kennet Fusiliers are sent back to the chateau. Ellwood leans on Hayes for strength as they settle into the room Ellwood and Gaunt shared for three weeks.
“I had him for weeks in this bed,” Ellwood said mournfully. He touched his lips, as if he could conjure up the ghost of Gaunt’s kiss on demand.
A hand landed on his shoulder. “If you need to talk about him, I can just listen.”
It was a kind offer, and Ellwood was feeling too weak to refuse, the rush of memories swirling around the room, taunting him with what he’d had and been foolish enough to lose. He hadn’t told Henry he loved him until their lives were in utter peril, and even then, he’d expressed it in a cowardly way. He hadn’t said the words at all. And Henry had died never having expressed that he felt the same. Perhaps he hadn’t. There was no way to ever know what he might have said, if they’d both made it back to the dugout.

Summary
Gideon and Archie Pritchard ask Gaunt about his relationship with Ellwood to pass the time in solitary confinement.
Gideon and Pritchard lean in and wrap their arms around him. “We’ll get you back to him,” Gideon promises. “It’s a mission of true love! Ellwood is the modern-day Helen of Troy.”
“He’s not a damsel in distress, Gideon,” Gaunt says. “He’s a very capable soldier.”
“Of course he is—you wouldn’t fall for someone who wasn’t nauseatingly perfect. But do you really think he’s getting along just fine thinking the love of his life is dead?” Gideon’s dramatic outrage makes Gaunt crack a smile.
“Everyone needs a hero, Gaunt,” says Pritchard. “Even an officer on the front lines.”

Summary
Ellwood wants to take the next step with Maitland, but he has a lot to learn. Thankfully, Maitland is a patient lover…and maybe wishes to be more than that.
Told from Maitland’s POV. This takes place Ellwood’s first year at Preshute.
If he were a weaker man, he’d have to be held back from the things he’d like to do to Sidney Ellwood at this very moment.
But Sidney is looking at him with hope and trust. He doesn’t shy away from Maitland’s gaze, because Sidney Ellwood is nothing if not prideful, but Maitland can see the vulnerability, the nervousness of a teenage boy having his first time, underneath the mask he’s putting on.
Maitland leans over him, kissing his lips. He doesn’t remark on the slight quiver from Sidney as their mouths touch. Maitland takes Sidney’s hand and, looking into his eyes, brings it up to his mouth to press a gentle kiss to his knuckles. “I will take care of you, Sidney. I’ll be slow and gentle. Just lay back and relax while I give you pleasure. If you need to stop, tell me or tap my shoulder, and we will.”

Summary
Ellwood is in Maitland’s bed, but all he can think and talk about is Gaunt.
AKA John Maitland is both a saint and the loneliest character in the book.
“You’re beautiful inside and out, Sidney Ellwood. You have me thoroughly under your spell.” Maitland turns them over so that he’s on top of Ellwood, pinning him to the mattress.
The weight of Maitland on top of him is enticing, but it’s when Maitland slides a muscular thigh between Ellwood’s legs that Ellwood quickly grows hard. “Take me,” he says, like it’s a dare. Anything to distract himself from the lead weight in his heart that reminds him Maitland has given Ellwood all of himself, but Ellwood has given him less in return.
“I know you imagine him sometimes,” Maitland says.
Ellwood freezes. There’s no romantic quotation for crushing your lover’s heart by imagining they’re another.

Summary
This is about the infamous Cobra Starship Drunk History episode Pete and Gabe filmed that will never see the light of day. I think we all know what happened in that room...so this is me trying to fill in that gap with my imagination.
“Man, when I called you, I thought we were just gonna get drunk and reminisce. Now I ended up with a sex tape of Pete Wentz’s first-ever blow job.” Gabe smirks at him as he plucks the camera out of Pete's hands. “I wonder how much this would go for.”

"Why haven't we fucked yet?"
"Excuse me?" Patrick spits out the Cheetos he's munching on and stares at Pete.
"You heard me. Why haven't we...you know," Pete says, sounding less confident by the second as he makes a vague hand gesture that Patrick assumes is supposed to indicate sex.
"Um. We...aren't a couple?"
"You don’t have to be dating someone to sleep with them, though. I make out with my friends and stuff all the time. Oh my god. You don’t think I'm hot. That's it, isn't it?"
Or, when Pete won't shut up, Patrick gets creative :)
