Because nobody ever came for Shane. It wasn’t unexpected, but it did still hurt in the morning to walk out of the woods alone.

Shane was so lost in it that he didn’t hear the crunching of leaves to his left. He didn’t hear the heavy breathing of another being nearby, just around the corner. But he did hear the low growl that came out of a throat, rumbling with pure instinct. It was unmistakably Alpha.OR: Omega Shane never has any Alpha hunt for him during Omega Runs, until lone wolf Alpha Ilya smells him from a mile away and must investigate.

Summary
The touch is gentle and the cream is soothing but that doesn't stop the soft yelp that escapes Shane's lips at the touch. It isn't dissimilar to any other bruise he's gotten in his life, especially playing such a high velocity, full contact sport for a living. Except, those bruises were always angry and gnarled and put there in bouts of aggression and violence.
The bruises under Ilya's wide, warm palms were put there with love and devotion, with whispered words of degradation chased with the candied edge of praise. Each gently throbbing bruise and slightly raised welt decorating his skin this morning were honeyed kisses placed with perfect precision by the man who Shane has devoted himself to – mind, body, and soul.
Or, Shane experiences subdrop at an in opportune time and Ilya helps him.

Summary
Nobody moves for a moment as Shane stares the woman down, and he’s seconds away from sawing the damn thing off himself, when the woman nods to the men surrounding the hybrid. And then there’s a flurry of movement, a clicking sound and then the men stand back to reveal Ilya in his bare faced glory, unobstructed by the muzzle.
Shane takes him in, inhaling softly at the sharp cheekbones, the moles dusted over his face, the pillowy lips that are set in a firm, displeased line. Shane wonders how big his fangs are. If he was a fighter, they must have been sharpened regularly.
Shane doesn’t want to think about the damage this wall of a hybrid had inflicted on others, the damage he could inflict on Shane. The hybrid stares at him, expression hard to determine but the intensity of it has Shane holding back a shiver. He’s staring at Shane like he can see every thought inside of him, calculating. As if they were on opposing sides of a ring, ready for the bell to chime and for Ilya to go in for the kill.
Shane gets roped into fostering a troublesome hybrid with a bad track record. Except what begins as a cordial arrangement turns into something much more complicated.
