Summary
The Corsucant Guard is barely holding on. Senators and civilians alike treat them like dirt, the Chancellor always needs Fox for something, and the Guard can't rely on anyone but themselves.
After one of his troopers accidentally arrests a jedi on a bust, Fox thinks he's about to get the punishment of a lifetime. But the jedi surprises him, and their run-ins become more and more frequent until a joint criminal investigation makes the Jedi Council turn him into a permanent fixture of the Corsucant Guard.
What Fox sees as the worst idea ever might just turn out to be the best thing that's ever happened to him and his men. But when an outsider finds out just what's been happening to the Corries behind closed doors, can Fox trust a stranger to help? And what will it mean for their relationship?

Summary
When something goes wrong on a patrol in Coruscant's Lower Levels, Fox ends up captured. He escapes. Or, more honestly, a youngling also being held there escapes and decides to take Fox with her. In thanks, he patches her up afterwards and assumes he'll never see her again.
Then she comes back, injured again but she won't tell him how, instead she feeds him intel about the Lower Levels, like a payment he never asked for. She's skittish and so small and Fox will never turn her away but his worry grows each time he finds himself treating her wounds.
Eventually, something has to change, but this change is one Fox never saw coming.

He rounded the corner towards the square right in front of the Temple– it was different than before because there had never been a square in front of the Temple.
Obi-Wan froze in place the moment he looked up. His eyes observed the large statues one by one.
Plo Koon, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto– they were all Councillors during the War.
Obi-Wan stood in front of the statues as tears welled up in his eyes. He hadn’t seen them in a long time and these statues looked exactly like them. From facial features and expression down to the way they were seated– as if they were in a regular Council meeting.
“Look Uncle Ben! It’s–” Obi-Wan leaped to Luke and covered his mouth before he could say anything else.
“Yes, I see, it’s General Kenobi.” He hoped the beings whose attention was drawn towards them would move on quickly. “But try not to shout, Luke, alright?”
His eyes left the boy to observe the statue of himself.

Or in which the Clones take over the Empire and Obi-Wan hears rumours about the whole ordeal which causes him to head back to Coruscant.
