    Katsuki lets his mouth fall open, and gloved fingertips gently brace along his jaw.

    Izuku hums. “A little wider—there we go, stay like that for me.” Katsuki’s heart rate picks up, hot blood washing under his skin without warning.

    Truth was, Katsuki didn’t have time for any of this shit.
    He didn’t have time for awkward flirting in bars or getting dragged through dating apps by his friends or pretending he knew how normal people met each other anymore. One-night stands required effort, relationships required time, and Katsuki had neither of those things, which is the real reason why he had agreed to this insane idea.
    You’ll blow off some steam. Plus, the boys are really cute. Is what Mina had said.
    So, did Katsuki need this?
    Yeah. Probably.

    Some people fall in love slowly. They do it over months, over years, over shared mornings and ordinary days.
    Katsuki and Izuku only have one night. It was supposed to be a transaction, just a fantasy, an orchestrated illusion to seek the intimacy none of them ever had. At least, that was the deal.

    "I’m gonna love you like this is my last fuckin’ night on earth." Katsuki shivered for just a second before whispering against his temple. "And I wanna spend my last fuckin’ night with nobody but you.”

    It hadn't been fair when he was eighteen, and it wasn't fair now that he was twenty-one, still an unmarked omega that's never been picked in the yearly tradition of a Mating Run.

    Omegas all around participated, and yet, Midoriya was never chosen. Now was just another year, another year of participating in the stupid event, just to be left with no mate yet again. Midoriya was getting older, and he's sure no one was going to pick him.

    "One", was probably where he messed up...considering he now had an entire PACK of alphas after his heart.

    The man sighed, stepping forward to close the curtains. “The locals are convinced that a mermaid has moved into the reef. Something about new coral structures."

    “A mermaid…?” Izuku whispered, still staring. Once found in nearly every body of water, mermaids had grown increasingly rare since the industrial revolution. If a mermaid really had moved to this patch of coastline, then it was no wonder people were celebrating.

    Izuku had always wanted to meet a mermaid. He wondered if he'd get to meet this one.

    Or, after several years competing as a pro surfer, Midoriya Izuku starts finding small, gorgeous gifts left for him in the ocean. He has an inkling who might be leaving him the gifts, but it also seems impossible. No one has ever even caught a glimpse of the Musutafu Mermaid, after all...
