Summary
Something wasn’t right. Apart from the whole aged up by a ghost thing. His eyes were hot, and his vision was starting to blur. The fluorescent lights in the hospital room were taunting him and making his hands look an odd shade of green. Was he sick? Was that why he felt so weird? Why did his brain feel so...scratchy? Like an old Christmas sweater.
Without knowing why, he sucked in a shaky breath and held it. To keep from crying, but why the hell would he do something like that?

"Oh?" said Fabian. "Who did you have a crush on?"
"Someone entirely unsuitable, who could honestly be quite an oblivious, pompous ass sometimes," said Adaine, folding her arms across her chest.
Riz laughed, attempting to cover the sound with a cough. Fabian narrowed his eyes at Riz. He wasn't as good of a detective as Riz, but he was quite well-versed by now in the particular minutia of Riz's expressions.
"You know who she had the crush on," said Fabian.
Fabian figures things out, and then he doesn't. Riz and Adaine don't figure things out, and then they do.

Riz is still all liquid-y in his arms, like a cat, and the kiss is nothing more than a few seconds of gentle touches and shut eyes, but this has worked before. Gorgug has pulled people from the brink of destruction with a kiss before. And he believes that it’ll work now. (Spring Break.)

Skip feels very cared-for while he adjusts to his new host, especially after risking death fleeing from the House of Frangus. The memories he can access from Norman Takamori are muddy and sparse, and he’s so afraid of being caught, but everyone’s so nice to him. He never cared much for family before, but maybe things will be okay in this safe little niche, protected from the cold cruelty outside.

It spills out of him, harsh and biting, and the conversation immediately falls silent. Hallariel freezes for a moment, before slowly turning on her heel and staring him down, mouth pulled sharply into a thin line.
She draws herself up, haughty and untouchable as she can be, as she always has been, and looks down at him with cold, furious eyes. “I said, that I was busy.”
“I heard you. And I don’t care. You’ve been busy my whole life, I’m sure you can spare a minute.”
He’s a ghost inside his own body, watching as his mother is struck speechless for the first time he remembers. There’s a trembling in his bones, rattling to be let out, viciously howling and crying yes yes yes, she needs to hurt the way she’s been hurting him all his life.

“She said only men trying to look richer than they were smoked indoors.” He snorts softly. “And men who smoked outdoors were trying to look tragic.”
“Perceptive.” Frost comments blandly.
“She was a menace.”
