Summary
On the eve of what would be remembered as The Hedge Knight, while Lord Beron Stark lay dying of wounds that would not close—
There was Dunk.
A bastard son, born of a woman long forgotten. Tall from the first, broad and solemn, he had been called “Dunk the Tall” in rough jest before ever his blood was set to parchment. The jest faded. The name endured.
Now he was simply Dunk.
The old gods had given him back—not as a shadow in the wolfswood, but in flesh and breath. Stark blood ran cold in his veins. Within him lingered the memories of another life: Ser Duncan the Tall, hedge knight, bearer of battered honor.
And deeper still lay knowledge.
He knew what was coming.
Dunk of Winterfell.
Bastard.
Stark.
Reborn beneath the silent gaze of the old gods—who do not forget, and do not forgive.

Summary
“If I break my oath, even for you—” Dunk’s voice cracked. He thought of Ser Arlan’s face. Of Egg’s trust. Of everything he’d built himself to be. “What would that make me?”
“Mine.” Aerion’s fingers slid to the nape of Dunk’s neck, tangling in his hair. “It would make you mine.”
There are two kinds of distance between a common hedge knight and a Targaryen prince: the height that separates them, and the morality that should.

“You’re sure?”
Dunk meets his eye.
“Write it down,” Aerion mimics, his impression of a low, grumbling Irish brogue. Licks his bottom lip.
The answer ends up being correct. Aerion discovers this at the end of the round when Arlan reads them back. Dunk says nothing, but his knee, which has now been resting against Aerion’s for the past two minutes presses once. Briefly, then is still.
Tanselle takes a long sip of her drink, rolls her eyes at the ceiling.
Daeron Targaryen has finally landed a gig (fuck yeah!). Fifty quid a night, five weeks, one pub in North London wedged between a fried chicken place and somewhere called Fun Pizza. His brother travels an hour on the tube to be there and is, allegedly, there to record. The bar guy is six foot six.
Nobody panic.
Or: a very realistic love story set in modern-day London.

Summary
After Aerion Targaryen is defeated during the Trial of the Seven, his father devises a harsher punishment than simply sending him off to Lys. He rules that his wayward son, the only omega of House Targaryen, will be given in marriage to Ser Duncan the Tall, newly enobled and enriched by the king.
Forced into wedlock with the man who bested him, Aerion has to battle with his own guilt and rage, as well as the budding emotions building up between him and his foe.
