    Beyond the deadly looks of the disassembly drone, he realized that its short, wild hair had purple highlights on the tips of it. Usually, a disassembly drone’s hair was purely silver with no other colors. But Nicholas thought that the purple highlights were really pretty. Gorgeous, even.

    So, without thinking, he blurted out, “You’re really pretty!” There was a hint of admiration in his tone, and his eyes hollowed out when he realized what he just said.

    Then something else happened. The disassembly drone’s X on it’s visor had turned into eyes. Something akin to worker drone eyes. It then scrambled off of him in shock.

    “Did, did you just compliment me?” It— she? It sounded like a she—stuttered and demanded to know.
