Duncan couldn't afford to keep all his horses let alone get distracted by the first appealing Alpha he spotted across a few party platters. Lyonel was too old to be another drunk lord pining after his favorite knight, no matter how the predator in his chest howled for him.
The meeting in the tent goes a little differently. An episode rewrite that will loosely turn into a show redo. Tags to be added but read through them just in case. I saw this show and laughed when these two danced and said out loud "Oh so I'm supposed to ship these two and pretend I'm cool about Game of Thrones?"
No I am still not over the ending of Game of Thrones. Yes, I am shipping them because of a joke, because they're perfect and need happiness after all that.

Or-Or: What if I made a Jon & Rhaenyra fic, but it's Jon and her sorting through their issues together while Jon tries to stop the Dance through sheer brooding and honor? It's not a deeply serious fic. Be warned.

Summary
Jon Snow died betrayed by his own brothers of the Night’s Watch. Instead of finding peace, he awakens nearly two centuries in the past, on the eve of the Dance of the Dragons.
By saving Prince Lucerys Velaryon from death at Storm’s End, Jon unknowingly changes the course of history. Worse still, he catches the attention of the dangerous, one-eyed Prince Aemond Targaryen, who insists Jon is an omega, his fated mate, and destined to stand at his side.
Jon wants nothing to do with the Targaryens’ coming civil war. He knows the Dance will leave their house broken, their dragons dead, and the realm weaker than ever. His only concern is the true enemy waiting beyond the Wall, and somehow convincing his ancestors to prepare for the Long Night.

The answer left Jaster speechless.
Ben sounded wounded– hurt in a way which would not heal with time alone. He looked like a tired Verd, a battle-weary warrior. Jaster had seen the look before. Many Verde wore it. The glint of deeply rooted pain sparked in Ben’s eyes too.
Instead of asking more, Jaster turned his head to watch the sunrise along with Ben.
It was peaceful.
The dawn of a new day.

Lyonel’s post-tournament hangovers rarely had anything to do with the amount of spirits he’d consumed.
Even though it left Lyonel feeling like the ass end of a mule, there was nothing like days on end of having his blood up, of tearing through the lists against any alpha, beta, or omega that was brave enough to tap his shield. The noise, the chaos, the crash-splinter of lances and the bone-jarring impact of melee weapons, all of it helped alleviate the storm perpetually trapped underneath Lyonel’s skin.
Lyonel leaves Ashford without fanfare, without answers, and without Duncan.
Or so he thought.
