Summary
In hindsight, Danny blames it all on the adrenaline. Since the moment he first looks (and draws a weapon) at McGarrett, his life is a constant swirl of one near-death experience after another, and the adrenaline, sloshing through his veins due to the neverending panic, is absolutely the reason why it takes him a year to realize he’s found his soulmate.

“So, hypothetically,” Danny says, tone clipped, “you’d totally help me get rid of a body, right?”
Steve, still living in a state of blissful ignorance at this time, laughs and shifts the phone to his other ear the better to rummage through the fridge. “Who’d you kill, Danno?”
“I’m taking that as a yes,” Danny informs him. “I’m at Stan’s. I’ll expect you here in eight minutes.”

Steve looks confused. “That shirt really brings out your eyes,” he says, hesitantly.
Danny openly gapes at him for a moment. “I said hit me, not hit on me, you gigantic weirdo.”
In which a misunderstanding leads to a somewhat peculiar arrangement, which leads to a happy end.

Summary
A serial killer arrives in Hawaii, leaving a trail of bodies and stirring up some old ghosts. Is it just coincidence that the killer has chosen the islands to resurrect his bloody career, or is he hunting someone in particular? When one of the team is taken, the case becomes a race to find them before the killer can claim another victim.

Summary
Danny leaves one hand on his hip, but he uses the other to gesture in that way he has that broadcasts his Jersey-Italian roots like he’s reading out his family tree over a megaphone. “I’m so happy to see you right now, I’ll give you a hug, I’ll give you a kiss, pick a base.”
And Steve’s brain - well, it’s not very fair to say that it screeches to a halt, because it hasn’t been moving properly ever since it connected the twin points of Danny and Grace to a hostage situation. In any case, what tumbles out of his mouth, way too unfiltered, is, “A kiss?”
In which Steve perhaps doesn’t so much pick the right base, as finds himself on it, somehow, and realizes he never wants to leave.

Written for leupagus' Promptfest '11. My prompt was bascially "whenever they switch places driving the Camaro, Steve has to put the seat back and Danny has to bring it forward, and I'll bet you anything Steve's kind of an asshole about it and Danny's kind of, IDK, ragey about it. And somehow it results in them making out in the passenger seat of the Camaro".

Summary
Danny Williams has a unique ability to rewind time one minute. Only sometimes intentionally, but always backwards one minute, except for one minute when he's 16 and time stops completely for everyone and everything around him, except him. After that, he's drawn to Hawaii, and when time rewinds and he catches his wife cheating on him, he takes his daughter and moves to Hawaii, leaving his wife no choice but to follow.

“I bet,” Lacey says. “So what’s the lucky lady’s name?”
“His name’s Danny,” McGarrett says, which cuts Dwight’s mental tangent about shoe wear short rather abruptly. “And you probably shouldn’t call him a lucky lady where he can hear you.”
Or: When two of Steve’s old SEAL buddies catch up with him in Hawaii, they discover he’s been busy. Just not with anything they would have guessed. (Or: Steve and Danny are married and have a metric ton of kids and Steve can’t shut up about it.)

Summary
Steve is a Military Sentinel in a world, where it is hard to find guides suitable for the hard military trainings. That leaves most serving sentinels unbounded and at a higher risk for zoning and dying. Not that Steve is looking for a guide, he doesn't need one. They'll just slow him down. But a chance meeting ignites something that was bound to happen sooner or later anyway: Steve slowly falling apart.
Or: Five times Steve needs a guide to ground one of his senses and one time he uses them all wittingly.

Summary
“I’m offended by how eager you were to clarify that you’re not tapping this.” He waves a hand up and down to indicate his own body. “Babe, you wish you were so lucky.”
Steve looks at him with more fondness than annoyance. “Sure, Danno. You’re a catch.”
In which “this is Steve, my partner” does not mean what people think it means, and the whole situation is going to give Danny a complex, one of these days.

Summary
It starts with a mewling dumpster. Meka’s steps falter and he falls silent mid-sentence, so for a second, Danny freezes, automatically on high alert.
Then he hears it. “Mew,” the dumpster says, full of woe.
Or: When HPD Detective Danny Williams rescues a Navy SEAL’s cat from a dumpster, he doesn’t expect to be getting a visit from the entirety of the Governor’s elite major crimes taskforce in the middle of the night.
