Which isn’t a lot, but it’s not great that it happened twice. But given how he was in school, perhaps we shouldn't have been surprised. She half expects that he will come to his senses and change his mind entirely, find a way to return to the charmed Palace life he’s been leading.
Instead he does exactly as told, the broom dipping only slightly before the magic adjusts to accommodate his added weight. “Can I hold onto you?”
“Probably should, if you don’t want to fall off,” she agrees, catching her breath when he immediately wraps both arms around her waist.
“Go,” he says firmly, close enough that his breath tickles her ear.

He reports a sudden snow squall came up, and he lost his footing and took a fall. He’s conscious and reports no major injuries, but he’s stuck on a ledge and can’t make it back to the trail. Patient is wearing a red jacket and a black knit cap and states his name is – ” there’s a burst of static over the radio.
“Please repeat the patient’s name,” Henry says into the headset mic as Schlosser programs the mountain’s location into the GPS.
There’s a bit more static, and then the dispatcher states, “Alexander Claremont-Diaz.”
(Or, a movieverse canon divergent AU wherein Henry is in the RAF and Cakegate still takes place, but the PR campaign doesn't happen – and two months after Cakegate, Alex does something dumb on a mountain in Scotland.)
