   Summary

   Jim Kirk, in what he believes must be Pike’s idea of a joke, ends up trapped on a long shuttle journey with a stuffy Vulcan named Spock. Spock is equally perturbed at having to spend his journey with an impertinent, baffling human. At least they’ll probably never see each other again. Probably.
