Rocinante stares dumbly as he attempts to process what Law actually means, because surely the most gorgeous man on the planet didn’t just order Rocinante on a date in thirty-six hours.

Summary
Five years was a long time. Enough time for pain to dull, for memory to fade. He had heard the same spiel quoted to him countless times. That time would heal the wound, that the scar tissue would numb and be forgotten, that there would be new things, new people, to fill the holes.
A day had not passed where Rosinante did not think of him. Sometimes it was barely a passing thought, a little ‘oh Law would have hated this’. Other times it was a blaring siren that stole the very air from his lungs. A spotted hat caught out of the corner of his eye, a shriek of indignant fury, a book on obscure medicine.
If time healed all wounds, Rosinante had to assume that he must have been mortally wounded and his body simply had not gotten the message yet.

After surviving Minion Island, Donquixote Rosinante lives haunted by the ghosts of all his failures. Eleven years is a long time to spend clinging to a memory, but he would rather live with the burden than face a future without even the cold comfort of the past.

Summary

The thing about plastic chairs is that they weren't a great substitute for an actual bed; the other thing is, Robert can't exactly afford to be picky and even if he 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 the internal debate is still ongoing as to whether or not he deserves a mattress at this current point in his life.

Law – who is kind of stoned, because thank fuck he's found a better coping mechanism in recent years than plotting suicide missions – snorts hard enough his face scrunches up at that comment, like it used to when they were kids and like he only started doing again recently. “Penguin, you've – you've literally only been bisexual for a month, don't start with that ‘live fast, eat ass’ bullshit if you can't cash that check.”
Penguin’s head tilts back, and Shachi snorts against his skin before he speaks. “Hey, hey, it's not bullshit, I totally would. I just haven't yet. Limited by experience and time, not willingness.” Which… is, hmm.
Shachi thinks on that for a second.
