Pat puckers his lips, then scoots over and rests his head on Pran’s shoulder, cuddling up to him. “Because you already loved me,” he says, and he probably means to make it sound like he’s teasing, but his voice is low and Pran can recognize an emotional Pat when he holds one in his own arms. “You were soooo in love-” he chants, and Pran smacks him on the head. Pat chuckles.
“In all fairness, I hadn’t exactly realized that I liked you,” he admits, “not yet. I thought I caught some kind of disease. At some point, I wondered if I had become allergic to you.”
