Danny groveled, burying his face in his hands. The blob ghosts let out sympathetic chirps, patting his cheeks with their squishy bodies.

Summary
Jack, Maddie, Jazz and Danny Fenton are now the Nightingales and will be until the final rogue GiW agents are taken out. It isn't so bad, the GiW is officially gone and Danny didn't end or full die. Sure, he's stuck with chronic pain and uncontrollable arm spasms but it could definitely be worse. Which it seems to be getting with this new gang boss killing their highest paying customers. This is extremely inconvenient of course. But worse, dead bodies totally drained of death energy keep showing up.
Danny doesn't have time to deal with any of this, but this Red Hood idiot has gone and forced Danny to deal with his nonsense by commissioning a bike. And, oh yeah, Danny figured out the new boss is undead by accidentally threatening him with his shotgun.
This is just how Gotham is, the new Red Hood will be a temporary nuisance until he's inevitably replaced by a new and different nuisance next month. Danny just has to keep from strangling this jerk until that happens.

After leaving his original dimension for his own safety, going off the rails in grief for a period, and finally processing enough to be mildly human again, Danny is ready to give this whole 'living' thing a try again.
He's in Gotham, in a dimension that he's grown fond of, and trying to lay down roots so that he can survive comfortably. Unfortunately, he can't recall how to make friends. Also, he doesn't want anyone to know he's actually dead because what if something like the GIW happen here?
Regardless, if he wants to stay, he needs to have a support circle to help his obsessions from ripping his mind from him again, which means he needs to befriend people, which means he needs to figure out how to speak to the Bats of Gotham.
This would be easier if there wasn't a cult trying to bring in ghosts from the Infinite Realms to cause havoc and give Danny a bad name.
