The speedster glared towards Erik. That familiar rage he always carried boiled in his chest, a nasty ball of hatred, disgust, and grief twisting his chest. “You did nothing for me,” he said, his voice cold and sharp. “I can’t even excuse what you did in saying that you were not aware you were our father. No adult man should have ever treated children in that way. And that is what we were. Children. We were sixteen when you tried to get us to bomb Santo Marco, Erik.” His right fist twisted into a ball, shaking at his side so fast the image was blurry. “And even then, we look exactly alike! Everyone could see it! So were you unable to, or did you not want to?”
Erik let out a slow breath. “Pietro, my d–”
“I didn’t ask about Anya! I asked about me!”

“I get that you're difficult by nature,” Akuna says, sliding down the wall to sit on the floor of Cal's cell next to him like they're not interrogator and prisoner, but just casual acquaintances hanging out. He cracks open his own bottle of water and takes a sip, then continues, “or Lank wouldn't be losing more of his hair trying to break you. But when I tell you to drink, you gotta drink, Kestis.”
Cal snorts. “What,” he croaks, “I have to get better so you can be the one to break me instead?”
Akuna pauses for a moment, then shrugs and nods. “Pretty much.”

“Y’r feet ‘re cold.” Molly mumbled eventually, but he didn’t sound all that grumpy as Caleb chuckled in response. He leant over, pressing his lips against Molly’s and then Essek’s, the contact soft and light. Both responded automatically, kissing back lightly, even though they were both more than half asleep.
It was amazingly endearing and more than a little heartrending. Caleb could feel the warmth of it bubbling up inside him, threatening to spill out everywhere and colour everything a dazzling sunshine yellow. He moved a little closer, all of them a messy tangle of limbs and breathing.
“You’re going to smother us one day.” Essek chuckled, a little more awake than the tiefling, turning so that his face was pressed into Caleb’s neck, which made Caleb hum in delight.

Summary
Lucien is defeated, Mollymauk gets a second chance and (gradually) his memories back. It's not easy to find yourself having missed so much. Being surrounded by the people who love you helps.
I'm bad at summaries, but basically, as much as I respect Tal's decisions about his characters, I think it would make for a more interesting story in terms of identity, love and all kinds of nuanced relationship beats if Kingsley didn't pop up. This is an attempt at it.

So it makes sense that Bob's different with him than with the rest of them. That he's subdued, reticent. Which, much to his own surprise, stings. He doesn't want to be on the outside, not this time.
