"You could never be him." Your voice trembled, but there was no fear in it, only hatred. "You can wear his face. You can mimic his voice. You can carry his memories. But you will never replace him."
For a moment, the room fell silent. Then his grip tightened as anger surged through him like poison.
"He's dead." His words came out harsher than intended.
"YOUR HUSBAND IS DEAD."
The shout echoed through the room.
