Gabriel stared down at the mess he had created.
He had taken nigh countless lives in the past. Each murder justifiable, guided by the ever-present light of God that had been funneled through the council and then into him. Gore–Wet, grotesque, splayed across the stars, a trail of blood always in Gabriel’s wake, bloodied footprints following his holy form with more devotion and unfettered eagerness than any brutalized sinner could hope to achieve. Oftentimes, when his blades were coated with viscera, he swore he could see the father’s light reflected in it; shimmering, radiant, and stark white against the deep red that his swords always drew. But he knew now better than ever that it was false.
This was the first time Gabriel ever truly thought about any life he had taken.

Wanted an excuse to write some gabv1el fluff & accidentally made it angsty instead. its still kinda there, tho mostly toward the end. not too long so i'm likely gonna write followup chapters :p takes place RIGHT after the end of the act 2 cutscene. gabriels working through some emotions & the unsettling freakass robot is only kinda helping -
