His body still aches from the fight, from the wariness of near death once more, from the Trilune nearly crushing his form into dust. Aether tries not to wonder what would happen if he wasn't saved then.
He's gone now. Columbina did it.
Yet, the silent fear of him coming back, for Aether knew power could not be extinguished so easily, buried itself deep in his bones, and further into the realm of sleep.
Burying his head in his pillow, Aether tried not to dream.
Or, even after the Doctor's defeat, Aether is haunted in his dreams.
