Gil has a point, Somnus supposes. The ruins are aged by the nature claiming it’s exterior; moss grows up the walls, and vines climb higher still, leaves and flowers bloom from the cracks of stone, which only make the structure more appealing. But, to that note, rock is rock. Once put in place it stays, just as the ruins prove, and will topple for no less than a god.
Besides, falling objects and caving floors are what warping is for.

The magic of the haven pulls him into two halves; One is Ardyn, a small child with a bit of an ego and a limited knowledge of the world at large, and the other is the Scourge, shambling and groundless, determined to seek out its former host and consume the light it finds there.

“Are you listening to me? We have a problem.”
Noctis focused on the shape above him. As his vision cleared, his confusion grew. A boy stood over him, young, probably ten or so, dark blue eyes staring down at him sharply and black hair flopping over his forehead in a curly, untamed mess.
“Who are—” Noctis started, then froze.
Why was his voice so high pitched?
After finding themselves transformed into children, Noctis and Ardyn are forced to work together if they want any chance of getting their adult bodies back.

Summary
When Cor got the tip that Niflheim was building its army up again he assembles his team and heads out to take down this new facility.
But he never expected -
They can fix this, get the kids out, get them safe, get them back to whatever family they have and Cor can put this entire thing behind him.
Except for the one kid with no name and nowhere to go. Except for him.
Niflheim’s newest leader glares at him over his desk.
“What gives you the right to take an Imperial child away from his country?”
“Nothing,” Cor says, “But I’m going to do it anyway.”Alternatively: When Monica and Cor recover eight year old Prompto from his ‘training’ facility they do not surrender him up to Niflheim’s care and instead bring him back to Insomnia and co-parent the heck out of that little sunbeam.
