Scott stared at Logan’s outstretched palm as though the claws were extended and Logan was asking Scott to spill his own entrails. Jean nudged her husband - her husband! - with an elbow and nodded at Logan.“I’ll let you lead,” Logan added, mock-persuasive.
“For once,” Scott grumbled, and placed his hand into Logan’s.

It hummed its appreciation, eyes flitting up and down, from the erection, to the ruined robes, the red line up Steve’s throat, the bottom lip pressed so softly, underneath its talon. The priest—this man—had bright, determined eyes, shiny and doe-like. Much less a sinner, more like a saint.
Irony that God would turn and send him away.
“Are you going to hurt me?” Steve asked, as if danger had only struck him now.
Or: Priest Steve Harrington had always lied to himself, about who he was and what he was. But a demon had heard his lies, and it wanted him to face them head on (and sealed their souls together in the process).

Some outside force that was less forgiving, refusing to let his head move away. Who was this person? And how did they draw him in with their own tired guilt.
“Eddie-”
“Yes?” His slid creeping closer. His shadow became clearer. Red eyes, but his face shaped as if he walked around with the rest of humanity. Father could see something coming out of the top of his head, weaving through his hair like a ram's horns had been attached. His long black nails.
The Father questioned his sight, because he couldn’t possibly be taking in a real creature of Eddie’s nature. In real life, right in front of him. His words slipped out without thought. “What are you?”
He had a simple answer. “I am anything you want me to be, Father.”

He was a son of God. And temptation was staring him right in the face in the worst way possible. A demon. And his name is Eddie.
