Summary
Yuriko was the kind of girl to know what it meant to keep a sword close and pride even closer. She was able to hold a weapon against someone’s throat after pulling them out of the storm. She had lived a life where the line between friends and enemies had blurred to the point that trust didn’t come easily.
At least, that was Midari’s conclusion. But then again, pulling a girl out of a storm after she collapsed was generous, so generous that she could excuse the initial unease now that time had passed.

She was sobbing, and with each heave of the chest her flesh expanded like a bag being breathed into, until she was being strangled by the hole in the guillotine for which her neck was made.

Summary
The Hundred Devouring Families brought with them to Hyakkaou a whirlwind of chaos, upending Sayaka's delicate day-to-day balance and giving her a hundred more responsibilities to juggle than she'd had before. Not the least of those responsibilities being keep Midari alive— no matter what life-risking gamble she proposed to one student or another, the president had requested that Sayaka keep her in check, and she wouldn't let Kirari down.
That responsibility became a little harder to manage when Midari caught wind of Miyo, and wanted to test her gambling skills against the Inbamis' poisonous tactics. Sayaka's hands are full with the aftermath.
