"I can understand but if you’re asking whether or not I actually care, I don’t." Tooru offers another shrug but this time with just his shoulders. No arms or theatrics to carry him. "The littlest trace of any feeling is just...wiped clean. I think that's the point."

"She's already eaten my heart, I watched her. Now which cookies do you want with your tea?"
(OR: a heartbroken Tooru bargains his heart over to a Witch so he doesn't feel devastating heartbreak. So he doesn't feel at all. But the payoff still hurts in his empty chest. Hajime wants to fix him. It's his fault).
