RIP Liam

Summary
“So no one knew about the relationship you were in, and you’re starting to think you imagined it, or how he hurt you, and you want to see it on your body to know that it’s real. Do I have the jist?”
Steve nods. “My… life before,” he manages after a long pause, his voice sounding raspy to his ears. “It’s starting to fade. I don’t… think I know how to handle it. There’s no real tangible reminder of it, any of it. Everything’s changed. I feel like a ghost sometimes.”
“That sounds terrifying,” Tony acknowledges. Steve’s glad he doesn’t offer platitudes or shame Steve about how he’s chosen to cope.
“It is.”
