Summary
Sabo took what felt like the hundredth deep breath of the day, and finally jumped off of his already tied up boat onto the railing of one of the most infamous pirate ships around.
Someone screeched, and he saw a man —Vista? He was pretty sure that was his name— trip over his own two feet and faceplant in, apparently, pure surprise. It was kind of valid, despite having thought about his entrance for over two hours, Sabo hadn’t really chosen the best option. But in his defense, he wasn’t sure there was a best option, or even a good one for that matter.
“Ah… hello,” very smooth, “I’m not here to pick a fight,” a great continuation, truly. Koala would have hit him so damn hard if she had heard.

.The war went a little different. The papers did not report it all that differently though, and Sabo is determined to figure it out.

Luffy is seven years old.
Ace was that age when he first ended someone’s life.
Ace… doesn’t want Luffy to know what it feels like to be stained the way he and Sabo had been. He thinks he’d much rather save Luffy the trouble of such horrors.
He doesn’t get very far.

Summary
Luffy gasps delightedly, head wiping around to stare up at Whitebeard with wide, excited eyes. “Ace tried to kill you too?!” he shouts. Behind him, the party doesn’t necessarily stop so much as pause, focusing in on the growing spectacle before them. Oblivious, Luffy continues on. “How long?”
Whitebeard looks down at the young pirate captain that’s practically vibrating in place. Then he looks to the blond revolutionary that is also staring up at him, gaze considering and keen. Then to his second division commander who now has his face in his hands, ears red where they poke out of his hair. Finally, he glances at the rest of his children, out of loop and confused, yet intrigued, nonetheless.

Or, Ace dies (of embarrassment), Sabo is the dramatic middle child, Luffy is having a blast, and everyone else is just along for the ride.

Summary
And between one second and the next, Ace's hair and the front of his clothes are suddenly drenched in alcohol. Sabo's shoulders stiffen where they're pressed against Ace's, and Luffy makes a clear sound of disgust and flicks some of the liquid off his fingers.
The man’s face is red with rage and possibly humiliation, his left eye—the one Luffy hit—squinted, dripping bottle clutched in one hand. "You little shit," he growls, and takes a menacing step forward.
Sabo buries his pipe into his gut.
It all descends from there.

He snagged a palm, just barely, clasping Luffy’s hand with desperate strength. He tilted forward at the added weight, the rim of the crow’s nest digging into his waist.
Luffy stared at him, eyes wild but awake. Finally awake. That stupid strawhat of his still stubbornly stuck on his head by a thin string.
He couldn’t help it. He grinned, something stark and wretched and relieved. So so relieved.
Luffy was looking at him like he’d never seen Zoro before. He looked right back, “You think I’d have let you fall, Captain?”
And in the quietest voice he had ever heard, Luffy uttered like a prayer, “Zoro.”

Summary
Another root sprouting from the dirt almost sent Dante crashing face first on the ground. Vergil teleported right before his crumbling silhouette and the red twin landed on his older brother's back.
“Hold on to me.” Vergil said as his hands shifted to grab the back of the hunter’s knees.
“What? No, I can walk, I just…”
“You need to rest. So sleep and heal. I’ll walk.” He cut the red twin off as he pushed on his legs and stood up, carrying his brother on his back.
“It’s not fair.” He protested softly but his arms shifted to wrap around his neck, his head resting on his shoulder.
“Life isn’t fair, Dante.” Vergil hummed.
“One day I’ll give you a piggyback ride too, so we’ll be even.” The hunter huffed groggily and the blue twin could feel him relax.
“Over my dead body.” Vergil scoffed, rolling his eyes at his nonsense.

After the events of DMC5 Dante and Vergil are stuck in the Underworld.
Dante is sick and needs to go back to the Human World, but Vergil can't follow him there. No matter how much he wants to.
