He'd always been a pretty boy. Pretty and slight and mischievous, a soft dusting of freckles and a strange, angular face; all pointed jaw and sharp grin, cheekbones and bare shoulders. Jinbei remembers meeting Whitebeard's eyes over the lad's head, once, the look of mutual understanding that had passed between them. Compelling, isn’t he? that look seemed to say. But if you lay a finger on my youngest, Jinbei, I won't be held responsible for my actions.

“Act like a disobedient dog, be treated like a disobedient dog,” Mihawk replies, smooth and swift. Zoro’s ears and the back of his neck turn red. “When I talk to you, I expect prompt, clearly spoken, polite responses, not all this… barking.” He makes a vague gesture at Zoro. “Until I get that, however, I will be treating you how your behavior tells me you wish to be treated.”
Zoro crosses his arms and turns to face Mihawk again, face flushing when Mihawk just nods at his feet like he expects Zoro to sit there.

There’s a tightening feeling low in Shanks’ stomach as his gaze follows those long fingers wrap around the neck of the bottle, the candlelight lancing over a sharp cheekbone. Mihawk is terrifying before he is beautiful, but Shanks isn’t afraid of him, and Mihawk is so fucking pretty. The dim glow filtering in through the windows is beginning to tinge warm, reminding Shanks that they’re on borrowed time; he glances at the clock and decides. He reaches over before Mihawk can straighten and curls his fingers around the shell of his ear.
“Hey.”
Mihawk stills and looks at him from the corner of his eye, barely turning his head. The bottle is in his hand, and Shanks trails his fingers down Mihawk’s jaw to take the liquor from him and set it down on the table.
“Wanna bang?”

Zoro can’t believe he's here, getting wasted with the greatest swordsman the world has ever known. So far.
They're several bottles in, and Zoro has taken up residence on the barstool next to him, matching him glass for glass, feeling the watery frills of that red shirt brush against his bare forearm every time he moves. The room has started gently spinning, the booze is strong, but the other man is watching him with something like grudging respect every time he finishes another glass of the stuff, so it's worth it.
This is great. He's going to get such a good grade in Dracule Mihawk.
So why can't he stop thinking about the damn cook?
Our intrepid crew finally reach Loguetown, where adventure - and danger - awaits them.
A fic in which Zoro is moping, Sanji is trying not to fall so hard he hurts himself, and Dracule Mihawk is the world's least willing relationship counsellor.

The man, the wolf, stares back at him over the crates of produce, the tilt of his head so reminiscent of curious pup that Mihawk almost laughs. Imagine, bumping into a mortal enemy at an event as innocuous as a Saturday morning farmers’ market. He can hardly believe it himself.

Ed starts falling asleep when he blinks. It’s all the rest he gets - brief, singular moments that offer no relief. Stede tries to keep him in bed, but the mattress rolls like a hammock on the deck under Ed’s body and he vomits onto the refinished floor. Izzy laughs. The spewer, he mocks and Ed knows this is what he deserves, puke and pain and a ghost in his mind.
“Should we leave?” Stede asks in the kitchen. Ed is at the table, a cold cup of tea in front of him, gaze fixed on nothing. Stede’s hands flutter at his sides. “We can go anywhere you want. Back to the sea. Another island.”
Through the window, Izzy’s ring glistens in the sun.
“No,” Ed says. “I’ll get better. I promise.”
Stede cries himself to sleep and Ed pretends he doesn’t hear the sobs.

Ben regards Israel with serious, slit-pupiled eyes. “An octopus hen cares for her eggs in a nest. The male dies after mating. The female, after the eggs hatch.” Israel keeps moving his hand, but if it’s meant to be dirty talk, it’s kind of missing the mark for him. “A Kraken, of course, is not the same as an octopus. We can have many healthy clutches with our mates, over our lifetimes.” Israel nods again. More of Ben’s tentacles slide over his body, and he lets his hand fall to the side. Ben takes it in his own hand, holding it like a precious thing as the tentacles caress him and his eyes flutter closed. “My kind has something of a… symbiotic relationship with humans. When I brought you to my cabin, I had hopes,” Ben says. “But now I know. You’ll be a beautiful hen for me.”

Jack's boxes should be unpacked, but they're not. The miscellaneous garbage bag of shit he threw the last of his belongings in after he ran out of boxes definitely shouldn't be sitting in the corner if Izzy's fucking living room, but it is. And instead of doing anything about it, Jack seems to spend at least fifty percent of his time at home standing in the kitchen, half dressed, drinking juice directly out of the carton in front of the fridge. On a good day he's wearing underwear without holes.
It gets worse over time, because at the very beginning at least he doesn't make eye contact, just grunts when Izzy flatly tells him to use a glass. Then he progresses to smirking, reaching for the glass when he sees Izzy start to open his mouth, continuing to drink from the carton once he's by himself again.
His hair is all over the shower, too. Somehow there's fucking pubes at eye level. Izzy wonders, distantly, if he's doing it on purpose. It seems like the sort of thing he'd do.

Ed has given him no indication of anything even marginally close to recognition in several minutes, now, because he’s been busy staring. Staring at Izzy, who so far doesn’t seem necessarily aware that Ed’s even here. It’d almost be normal, the strangeness of his being in Stede’s cabin aside. Except he’s naked and blushing from head to toe.
