tl;dr: There's a parallel, but the differences between them stand out to me SO much more than the similarities itself. The differences helped me realize I shipped Beth/Benny! Benny thinking about Beth’s chess is so INTIMATE compared to Beth lighting a cigarette and picking up a book to read post-coitus.
